Windham Drives, Pond Roads, and Newer Subdivisions

Windham picks up where Salem's north line stops. Pond roads and Exit 3 subdivisions are not the same concrete job.

Pond humidity is not a driveway diagnosis

Windham's landmark water is Cobbett's Pond, and a lot of the newer houses sit in subdivisions that grew up with I-93's Exit 3. People lump those together. For concrete they are different. A pond road can be shaded, sloped, and tight to the water. A subdivision apron is usually a builder slab on a flatter lot, failing from salt and the plow.

Salem Concrete's repair-first habit matters more in the subdivisions, where a section can often be cut and replaced without redrawing the whole approach. On a pond road the first question is pitch and what the spring water does. Say which of the two you are before the visit.

Exit 3 houses and the original apron

Many Windham colonials got their driveway the year the house was sold. Those aprons are reaching the age where the control joints have opened and the garage lip has settled. A full tear-out is sometimes the answer and sometimes a story someone wants to sell. Ask for the repair look first. Name the subdivision if it has one. Crews remember them.

Roads around Cobbett's Pond

Shade, a short steep pitch, and limited staging show up together near the pond. A patio there is often a small level spot carved into a slope, which means the wall or the timber edge beside it is part of the concrete conversation. Photograph that edge. Do not only photograph the crack.

Windham details worth writing down

Pond road or subdivision, and whether the town road has a paved apron you do not own. Salem's Route 28 commercial rules are not Windham's. The crew checks the Windham address on its own.
